The outdoor dog specialists at Ruffwear have unearthed the hidden gem dog walks of the UK by finding the top-rated walks on AllTrails that were dog-friendly and had ratings of over 4.5 stars, creating an index of the highest-rated, least-reviewed dog walks.

And their findings reveal that the Isle of Wight has the top hidden gem dog walk in the UK. Ruffwear found that the 7.1km Alum Bay to Freshwater Bay point-to-point route is the top hidden gem dog walk in the United Kingdom, located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can make this trail a circular route by going back on yourself, therefore, doubling the distance, resulting in double the adventure for your canine companion.

The coastal route provides views of the English Channel, which is especially beautiful on a clear day. Dogs are welcome and can be off-lead in some places, and you will also pass The Needles viewpoint, a National Trust site.

Ruffwear discovered Britain’s hidden gem dog walks by applying the ‘dog-friendly’, ‘hiking’ and ‘walking’, and ‘4.5 stars and over’ filter to AllTrails. The data was then indexed by the rating and the number of reviews to find the highest-rated, lowest-reviewed dog walks across the UK. The hidden gem had to have at least 30 reviews to be considered.
