WHAT'S THE BUZZ?
This secluded country house has been lovingly restored and offers a relaxed, luxurious escape in a beautiful part of Wales. There are seven newly refurbished suites in cottages adjacent to the main building, decorated in a sophisticated fashion, with rural influences.

ANY LUXURIOUS TOUCHES?
I loved the feather down mattress covers that made getting into bed feel like being enveloped by a huge marshmallow. You can arrange a massage in your room, the baths are deep and robes are provided.
BEST SEA VIEW?
You can’t see the sea from the hotel, but there are 26 acres of stunning grounds to explore and many beautiful beaches nearby. One of my favourites is Barafundle Bay, part of the National Trust’s Stackpole Estate, which is about 35 minutes’ drive away.
HOW’S THE FOOD?
The hotel’s 3 AA Rosette restaurant is exceptional. Executive chef Allister Barsby has created an exciting menu, which uses the best local produce as well as herbs and vegetables from the kitchen gardens. Truly divine dishes like scallops with yoghurt, sweet raisin vinaigrette, chicken and vanilla jus, are a delight. You can also visit the excellent Coast restaurant, just 20 minutes away at Saundersfoot, which is also owned by the proprietors of The Grove (01834 810800, coastsaundersfoot.co.uk).
