Join the coast team for a day at the seaside in association with Joules
Come and join us at Cornwall’s Watergate Bay, one of the most desirable spots in the country, on Saturday 8 October for this year’s coast beach clean.
WHAT’S IN STORE?
Our day at the beach will begin with coffee and a catch-up in the Watergate Bay Hotel, followed by a search of the sand for litter. Our finds will then be recorded, weighed and analysed, forming a valuable contribution to the research of the Marine Conservation Society – a charity that cares for our shores, seas and wildlife. Having worked up an appetite, we’ll lunch at chic restaurant Zacry’s, where Cornish attitude is combined with a classic brasserie vibe. Tums full, it’ll be time to don our wellies and explore Watergate Bay’s rockpools for signs of life. With expert guidance from the MCS, we’ll find all kinds of sea creatures. Next up it’ll be back to the hotel for tea, coffee, cake and a prize giving, where spot prizes will be awarded and goodie bags handed out to all. See you there!
HOW DO I BOOK?
The day costs £20 per person (under-5s free and £12 for children aged 6-15). This includes drinks on arrival, lunch, tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon and a goodie bag. There will be free parking at the hotel for beach cleaners, or trains and flights to Newquay (just two miles away) are available. To book, call coast on 01959 543547.
MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT
If you’d like to spend more than one day on this enchanting part of the North Cornish coast, there are plenty of things to do. Try your hand at all kinds of watersports, or activities like kite-flying, with the Extreme Academy, or kick back at Watergate Bay’s Swim Club, which offers treatment rooms, yoga retreats and a sea-view hot tub.
