Coast magazine is pleased to announce that it will again be sponsoring the ‘Coastal Fish Restaurant’ category at the Fishing News Awards 2017
Readers have until 17 February 2017 to nominate their favourite restaurant. The award invites your nominations for coastal fish restaurants that have shown outstanding support for the commercial fishing industry in their local area over the past year. Such restaurants will be able to demonstrate a focus on locally landed fish, and a menu that incorporates a good range of species; encouraging diners to experience varieties that are more commonly exported, and others which deserve to be more popular. Martin Charlton’s ‘The Old Boat House’ in Amble scooped last year’s award. The top ten nominees will be featured in Coast Magazine after the award ceremony.
Fishing News editor Dave Linkie summed up the Awards: 'Fishermen are some of the hardest and bravest workers in the country, yet are often the most modest and unassuming people. It’s important the public realise the work fishermen put in, every single day of the year, to catch fresh, sustainable fish. This is precisely why Fishing News is hosting these awards.'
Hosted by renowned comedian Rory Bremner, the awards will be held in Aberdeen on 25 May, 2017.
