This month Coast has teamed up with Bert’s Kitchen Garden to offer a couple’s holiday in a little-visited part of North Wales.
Little-visited compared to the crowded slopes and passes of neighbouring Snowdonia, the Llŷn Peninsula has a slower pace and a more charming sense of place. There’s a timeless feel there, amongst the narrow lanes lined with tall hedgerows or the quiet beaches fringed by dunes and rock pools.
A star in this slow travel idyll is Bert’s Kitchen Garden, an eco-campsite and restaurant outside the village of Trefor. With its own private beach and pitches mown from wildflower meadows, Bert’s invites guests to truly relax.
The winner of our competition and their friend or partner will win a two-night stay in one of Bert’s new huts, opened in 2022. Each spacious hut is clad in reclaimed wood, has a king-sized bed dressed in French linen, and a marble-tiled shower room with lashings of hot water.
The huts sit in a private paddock on the campsite, with a shared garden and firepit for those looking to do a little al-fresco cooking. However, for those keen to relax even further the kitchen garden restaurant is just next door to the paddock, and hut guests will be able to stroll over for morning pastries, light lunches or seasonal dinners.
