WHET MY APPETITE
Head chef Pratap Singh Rawat brings together traditional Indian recipes with locally caught fish and produce from nearby organic farms. From Aldeburgh lobster in Masala gravy to Goan-inspired seafood dishes, he creates a fragrant and aromatic menu that you certainly won’t find in every seaside town.
WHAT’S ON THE MENU?
Nibble on some crispy coated okra with a local craft beer as you peruse the menu. We tried the hand-dived scallops with spring onion to start, followed by a prawn moilee (with coconut and south Indian spices) and Tandoori lamb chops. Side dishes such as khatte baigan (aubergine and yoghurt) and daal makhani (slow-cooked black lentils with cream) made for a truly delicious feast. Adventurous types might like to try the East Suffolk muntjac (a small, common deer) vindaloo.
HOW’S THE MOOD?
We loved the décor here; olive leather seating booths are matched with copper lighting and teak-coloured wood to create a luxurious, slightly opulent setting. Relaxed and grown-up, it’s a great place for couples to snuggle up.

The pebble beach of Aldeburgh is just across the road.
