WHAT’S THE BUZZ? St Brides is a contemporary destination spa hotel, located on a headland in Pembrokeshire with elevated views of Saundersfoot Harbour and Carmarthen Bay. Designed around the view, the hotel’s Marine Spa, Gallery Bar and Cliff Restaurant all have floor-to-ceiling glass windows, providing far-reaching panoramic views for guests to enjoy whilst indulging in fine dining from a menu created using fresh local produce.
Surrounded by diverse Pembrokeshire scenery, St Brides is easily accessible from the M4, and is just a short hop from Ireland. The area offers many interesting outdoor activities, such as coasteering, kayaking, surfing, golfing, horse-riding, quad biking and boating.
WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE? Each of the 34 bedrooms are individually designed and beautifully decorated. Those with a sea view also boast a balcony which is the perfect location for guests to sit and unwind in the evenings, watching the boats drift in and out of the harbour below.
Complementing the hotel are six two-bedroom serviced hotel apartments, fitted with all the modern necessities as well as 14 one- and two-bedroom self-catering apartments located in the heart of Saundersfoot village. Residents of St Brides are able to make use of the fitness suite which is complimentary. The suite is equipped with state-of-the-art exercise machines and flat screen televisions for their entertainment.
HOW ABOUT THE FOOD? The AA Rosette Cliff Restaurant and Gallery Bar have the most dramatic views across the bay and harbour that are constantly changing throughout the day. Whether guests choose to stay for lunch or dinner, the team guarantees the finest Pembrokeshire produce and locally landed fish will feature on the menu. The à la carte menu changes regularly to ensure the best seasonal produce is available – the team are committed to using only the freshest ingredients, simply cooked, to make the best use of natural flavours.
WHAT’S THE SPA LIKE? The Spa is the perfect retreat to indulge in soothing treatments, using marine sourced products including seaweed, designed to encompass the natural healing properties of the ocean. The Marine Spa boasts Wales’ only True Infinity Edged hydrotherapy pool which looks out over the harbour and bay. Sustainably sourced, sun-dried sea salt water creates a luxurious swimming experience, as it makes the water ‘softer’ and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.
The hydro pool is heated to 35 degrees and includes a Jacuzzi air bed and swan neck shower, both designed to create massaging sensations and relax the body. The Cliff Edge Spa also includes a stunning thermal suite with a salt infusion room, aroma steam room, rock sauna, a sensation shower and ice fountain. Surrounding the range of thermal experiences is the relaxation lounge and terrace, exclusively for spa guests to enjoy complimentary refreshments and relax on loungers whilst listening to the sea below.
As well as marine tailored treatments, the Cliff Edge dual treatment room is ideal for couples or friends to benefit from their spa experience with French windows that slide open to reveal the fresh sea air and gentle sound of the tide coming in and out. Guests can relax further in the post-treatment room, a peaceful oasis with ocean views for guests to absorb the benefits of their treatments.
WHAT WILL IT COST? A Good Non Sea View Double Room starts from £200 per night, bed and breakfast, while a Best Seaview Double room is from £390. The Contemporary Serviced Non-Sea View Apartments are from £330 per night.
