West Sussex residents Liz and Terry Fenner-Leitao share their favourite things to do in Selsey.
Compiled by Nicola Smith
1. GOING FOR BEACH WALKS
‘Our house is on the west side of Selsey, which is beautiful, and the kids love playing on the beach. The east side is also very pretty and more sheltered, with natural shingle banks that join Pagham Harbour. We often go there for walks.’

2. BROWSING THE SHOPS
‘Selsey has a number of bric-a-brac shops – we especially like Brent Lodge Wildlife Trust Shop (01243 605125, brentlodge.org) – and we’re often happy just mooching about the town having a look. We also love nearby Arundel and Chichester.’
3. VISITING PAGHAM HARBOUR
‘This is a lovely nature reserve on a sea inlet, and you can see ducks, geese and wading birds. From here we often walk to the village of Sidlesham where there is a pub called The Crab and Lobster (01243 641233). It serves great food but it’s also nice for a mid-walk drink.’

4. KITE-FLYING ON WEST BEACH
‘The beach is quite literally a stone’s throw away from the house, so when it’s windy it’s a great place to fly kites.’
5. EXPLORING SELSEY BILL LIFEBOAT STATION
‘We always take friends who are visiting here for the first time (01243 602833, selseylifeboats.co.uk). It is a working lifeboat station and it’s really interesting to go up to the viewing platform. There’s also a small museum and lovely shop.’
